The Ibisi Mountain washing station sits within thehills of Southern Rwanda, located a short drive fromthe Nyungwe Forest, a national park known for itsincredible biodiversity of endemic species. Here,local farmer Bernard Uwitije focused primarily onproducing commodity coffee until 2015, when herealized the potential for processing fully-washedspecialty coffees in partnership with RwandaTrading Company. 

Rwanda Trading Company was established in 2009as a vehicle for positive social impact. This grouphas displayed a consistent commitment to securingeconomic freedom and security for smallholderfarmers by building resilient, transparent supplychains. RTC processes and exports 25 percent ofRwanda’s annual coffee production.
